John Goheen - Northumberland Clarke

I’m John Goheen, and I am once again seeking the nomination to be your candidate in Northumberland Clarke for the next federal election.  

We came so close last time and it did not take me long to decide I wanted to take another run at it. I announced my intention to seek the nomination in the summer.  Since that time, I have re-joined the Electoral District Association as a Director, and I have reformed my team from the election. I am excited to say that the entire core campaign team is back and we are already at work.

The last few months/weeks/days have reaffirmed my commitment even more strongly. Canada is at a crossroads, and under the leadership of Prime Minister Carney, we are positioning ourselves for the long run. While the PM and his government work for Canadians, our Member of Parliament follows Pierre Poilievre's petty grievance slogan-based political games. 

Northumberland Clarke deserves better representation in Ottawa. 

During my last campaign, I had the opportunity to meet and work with some incredible people across the riding. I learned about what matters to people and the impact that good representation can have on their lives. This is why I have decided to run again. It’s important to me that every resident of this riding has someone who is going to fight for them, who will take the time to listen to their concerns, and look for ways to solve issues that will benefit everyone in the riding. Our riding deserves nothing but the best!

My priorities for Northumberland Clarke remain the same: increased affordability, making sure that our children can work and live here and that the people who spent a lifetime making this such a great place can too. There is a place for everyone in Northumberland Clarke to work, raise a family, retire and enjoy everything this area has to offer.

Our Prime Minister has a focus on increasing productivity, supporting businesses in expanding into new markets, increasing production and sales and getting them access to the latest tech to support them. 

We need to make sure that all businesses in Northumberland Clarke are well-positioned to take advantage of these priorities. I’ll work hard every day for these investments and opportunities. This riding is well-positioned to be a destination for business and manufacturing, bringing jobs and investments to our area.

Help me to protect the progress of the past and the investment in our future: Canada Child Benefit, which has helped to support so many families and brought children out of poverty, dental care and Pharma care, helping to ensure that more people have access to these essential services and the many other programs that support people and business across our country.

Representation isn’t about waiting to do something until your party is in power. It’s about working hard every day to ensure that everyone is aware of programs and initiatives that can support them and improve their lives.

There is a lot that needs to be done.
